HOME
1. Experimenting with different disciplines and mindset:
VGOURDIN (2019) discusses the creative process in an enlightening way stating "By trying my hand at…different disciplines I learned how to think in terms of process rather than outcomes".

2. Process and inspiration:
Montana Forbes (2022) works during fashion week and part of their process is to "photograph people in and around shows or source images online afterwards…I also browse through magazines and cut- outs". Back in the studio Montana Forbes (2022) works methodically and will "allocate specific days to sketch out different parts of outfits from different images to create a new…composition."

3. Practicalities, Pace and Passion:
Joanna Layla (2022) approaches fashion week by creating site drawings, this affects the materiality: "I normally work side of stage or backstage" and "use the media appropriate for the space." Joanna Layla (2022) states that "I create warmup sketches…Fashion week illustration is physical, gestural, fast, expressive". Visiting fashion events is important to Joanna Layla (2022): "Seeing in real life the clothes moving on the models imprints on the brain".

5. A passion for materials:
Fashion illustrators use different materials and some have a favourite. Laura Gulshani (2020) loves to paint and has a meditative way of working stating "I feel very relaxed when I paint I feel very peaceful and I lose myself…in the moment".

6. Colour:
Dallas Shaw (2016) does not like to stick to conventional colour theory being "inspired by a really strange mix of colors". Laura Gulshani (2020) states "I love putting bright colours together…I outline everything in black first…then I go over it with colour".

7. Professionalism and Scanning:
Zhenya (2022) "had to scan and edit the illustrations because the illustration should have a presentable appearance". High quality scans are essential for professionalism.
